Our Hopes For 2015

At the start of our 2nd year, we look forward to continuing our adventure with INSIDE OUT.

Our 5 keys goals for the year are:

  • Become a registered charity for children

  • Dramatically increase the number of children who benefit from what we do

  • Improve what we offer teachers and schools that they can make the most of INSIDE OUT

  • Engage with other organisations that are part of the growing movement to improve the health and happiness of children in education

  • Grow our INSIDE OUT team with people who continually learn from their mistakes and maintain their own wellbeing too

Any day now, we hope to receive a letter from the Charity’s Commission confirming our charitable status. And then we can start the challenging work of expanding the reach of the programme. We are already talking to a number of primary schools that are interested in taking part in INSIDE OUT activities this year.

One of the new initiatives this year is the launch of our Teacher Training Workshops to help with the successful implementation of our Toolbox for Schools. Another focus for this year is to share what we do with others who care about the same things as we do. We have already talked with the wonderful Dr Neil Hawkes and his Values-based Education team and Dr Tony Eaude from the Department of Education at the University of Oxford. We’re excited to see new initiatives like the International Positive Education Network and can’t wait to meet them and many others this year.

Of course, getting a charity off the ground hasn’t always been easy. There have been hurdles. We’ve tried things that didn’t always work and haven’t always seen eye to eye. As the Founder of INSIDE OUT, I’ve been involved in every step of our journey thus far.

For me personally, it’s been an incredibly fun and meaningful period in my life … and pretty scary at times.

I’ve had dips in motivation and been way out of my comfort zone. Thankfully, our team has been amazingly supportive. And together, we kept at it. We worked hard, learned a whole lot and did our best to keep up our own individual wellbeing too. May this continue as we expand our team this year with passionate people who practice what they preach.
