PASS A SMILE

PRACTISE SELF CONTROL.

Instructions

  1. Have children sit in a circle and ask everyone to look serious.

  2. Choose a child to start off a smile. They send their smile to the person sitting next to them.

  3. This person smiles, then zips their lips in order to ‘hold’ the smile.

  4. They then turn to the next person and unzip the smile to pass it on.

  5. When the smile has been around the circle once, the group has a go at passing another smile but this time more quickly.

Teacher Notes

A variation of this activity is to have the children ‘throw’ a smile across the circle. Everyone has to stay alert to catch it.
